COSMOSOLUNA

is an interdisciplinary performance by Miro Craemer that took place during the opening weekend of the 58th Venice Biennale in May 2019 at Palazzo Bembo near the Rialto bridge.

COSMOSOLUNA is a collaboration between Miro Craemer and BETTY TEZZA MOVEMENT ACADEMY from Vicenza and the sound artist ALEXANDER LÖWENSTEIN from Vienna.

COSMOSOLUNA was inspired by the works of the Munich painter GOTLIND TIMMERMANNS, whose "Azimut" cycle is exhibited in several parts at Palazzo Bembo during the Biennale.

Inspired by the "Moon" and the "Cosmos" in the anniversary year of the first moon landing 50 years ago, COSMOSOLUNA creates movements and sound elements that are connected to the history, society, technology and atmosphere of the time before and after landing on the moon.

The choreography was created by Betty Tezza together with Miro Craemer, focused on understanding cosmic energy and the interaction of the human body.

The clothes of the artists designed by Miro Craemer use recycled materials and digital silk prints based on motifs from Gotlind Timmermanns' paintings.

The sound composition created by Alexander Löwenstein specifically for COSMOSOLUNA consists of four parts. It expresses different emotions from admiration to waiting and confusion towards an open situation of contemplation and rethinking.

COSMOSOLUNA was supported by SUEDWOLLE GROUP, STRASSER & STRASSER Consulting and CHRISTIAN FISCHBACHER, St. Gallen
